ECUs not recognised

Hej alle,

Jeg er interesseret i evt. reprogrammere ETG6 gearkassen i min 2013 DS5 Hybrid 4.

Jeg har anvendt Diagbox (V7.62) et par gange på bilen, fundet og slettet nogle fejlkoder osv. Hver gang jeg starter Diagbox bemærker jeg dog, at flere ECU'er listes ed information om 'ECU not recognised'

Har læst, at det kan være ens hardware som ikke er 'full chip', men ved ikke, om man på nogen måde kan afgøre, om dette er problemet.

Nogle som har ved mere end mig ?

There is no doubt that this is not a software problem, but that the VCI is unsuitable.
According to the picture, it is an ‘ancient’ China clone, which only works up to firmware 4.2.2 or 4.2.4 = Diagbox V05.29. Your box would not even be included there.

DB7.62 is perfectly fine for your vehicle - the firmware is 4.3.3.
Either buy a proper VCI or reflash the existing one - usually works.

Okay thank you vary much for this information. - So as I understand you my first attempt would be to reflash my existing VCI (is that straight forward, or?)

BTW: Here is what Interface Checker says:

f you believe the interface checker, then your VCI is already flashed to ‘C’ and also displays the correct firmware.
Then this VCI - which happens frequently - is not suitable for diagnosing your DS 5 due to a lack of technology or poor component quality.
I doubt whether a new flash process will help. I can't comment on the flashing itself because I only use original VCI and have never had to do this.
However, there is a specialist on the Danish forum - perhaps he is reading and will get in touch.
It probably won't work without buying a suitable VCI - the Danes buy their Chinese VCIs from a Danish company that has often been recommended in the forum.

Thanks. Bought decent VCI fra recommended Danish company. Actually Diagbox still states 'not recognised' for the ECU's in question. However now it's possible to communicate and see data etc. for those. - So at least something changed to the better

But still a bit strange of course. I don't know if upgrading Diagbox will do any difference. My DS is year 2013 and to all my knowledge Ver. 7.62 should be suitable....

A distinction must be made between the following.
If the Diagbox indicates in red that there is no communication, then this control unit cannot be accessed. In addition to an unsuitable VCI, there are also other reasons for this, e.g. faulty diagnostic connection (very rare).

If only the message ‘Control unit not recognised’ appears, this usually means that the control unit designation cannot be read. However, all functions are accessible and can be carried out. Such anomalies also occur with an original VCI. Very rarely there is no access due to a bad VCI.
7.62 is fine - further updates in the V07/V08 range rarely make sense.
V09xxx, which is currently 9.195, could be used - but sometimes more is less.
