Tandremskift
Hej.

Re: Tandremskift

Re: Tandremskift
There are some good articles on youtube about changing the timing belt. The tools for locking the camshafts and fitting the water pump belt can be bought cheaply in Poland and England (approx. 55-60€).
The biggest work is to dismantle everything to be able to lock the camshafts.
The most important thing is to always use only the engine oil prescribed by PSA and more frequent oil changes are also beneficial.
It is even better not only to change the timing belt, but also to remove the oil pan and clean the oil pump strainer. Most engines die because the abrasion of the timing belt clogs the oil pump and then the oil pressure is missing.
I can share the YouTube posts etc. on request.
Greetings Wolfgang

Re: Tandremskift
Yes I forgot to mention the oil pan. I actually did that too when I changed the timing belt. Luckily there was almost no debris in the strainer. The worst part was removing the oil pan as the RTV was holding it really good. I used a putty knife and carefully cut the RTV without bending the oil pan or scratching the mating surface of the engine block.cit-rotti skrev: ↑søn 15. jan 2023 16:49There are some good articles on youtube about changing the timing belt.
